Mechanical Engineer proficient in 2D & 3D design will have primarily drafting responsibilities with some creation of less complex 3D modeling design efforts. Must be able to understand and apply basic mechanics, engineering concepts and designs. Previous layout and GD&T experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment would be preferred. Individual must be able to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Ability to understand and apply fundamental Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing or International equivalent at an intermediate level.
Must be able to create 3D models of simpler designs and create complex 2D drawings to acceptable drafting practices.
Perform tolerance stack-ups, calculate o-ring sizes, simple hydraulic and stress analyses.
Perform small component tests to support other engineers.
Oversee component design proposals with internal departments; discussing customer specifications with manufacturing and cost implications.
Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes.
May have the ability to create interactive illustrations for use in Online manuals.
Generates, discusses and maintains components design proposals with internal departments balancing need to customer specification with manufacturing/cost implications.

Qualifications:
Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) including ERP systems. Knowledge and ability to use general office equipment, such as copiers, faxes, printers, computers, etc.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and professionalism.
The ability to process multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Basic organization and prioritization skills.
The ability to define, diagnose, and resolve problems and the ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
The ability to assist other drafters with tasks. Demonstrated ability on a day-to-day basis to effectively balance workload.
Required
Experience: At least 1 year MCAD drafting experience, general machining, fabrication, and manufacturing knowledge required. Creo & SolidDesigner preferred.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four year accredited institution.
Position: 18 month contract
Location: Rockford, IL 61107
