The primary purpose of the Assistant Director of Nursing is to assist in the planning, organizing, development of the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the facility and as may be directed by the Administrator to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Essential Job Functions:
Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the nursing service department and its programs and activities in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the nursing care facilities.
Develops, maintains, and periodically updates written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
Develops methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.
Develops, implements, and maintains an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
Participates in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies as necessary or as may be directed.
Assists in planning the nursing services portion of the resident's discharge plan.
Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluation, studies, charting, etc.

Assists in calculating the number of direct nursing care personnel on duty each shift.
Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
Ensures that direct nursing care is provided by a licensed nurse, CNA, and/or a nurse aide trainee qualified to perform the procedure.
Schedules daily rounds to observe residents and determine if nursing needs are being met in accordance with the residents' request.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing Minimum of one year of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility preferred Hospital med surge experience preferred.
Must be CPR certified Previous experience in long-term care is preferred Compassionate and empathetic personality Benefits Offered:
