Full Time Day Shift 8am - 4:
30pm POSITION
Summary:
This position is responsible for processing release of information urgent/STAT requests for continuity of care, patient use, and other purposes.
Release is performed using multiple sources of media.
Provide telephone support from both internal and external callers and assist with patient walk-ins.
This position flags, scans, and indexes verbal authorizations for UW Health Northern Illinois.
Routes advance directives to UWH-Madison ROI to review and process.
This position requires considerable amount of knowledge of EPIC electronic health record, release of information modules, and UW Health Northern Illinois policies regarding privacy and security of protected health information (PHI), as well as excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills necessary to support the wide variety of customers both internal and external to UW Health Northern Illinois.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred:
Education in Health Information Management, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or other related field.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of filing systems necessary to file, store and retrieve information from paper, CD's, Microfilm, and electronic health record systems Ability to examine record and verify patient identification Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal communication and team skills in a complex setting Ability to react to frequent changes in duties and volume of work Excellent internal and external customer service skills and the ability to remain calm, be patient and respond professionally to all requests Excellent technological skills sufficient to work on computers and scanners including various software programs HealthLink/EPIC, Onbase, microfilm machine, etc.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
