Lab Assistant
POSITION
Summary:
Performs phlebotomy, EKG, point of care of waived testing.
Enters and retrieves patient information, demographics and test results.
# Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and education experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives.
# Performs selected skills:
including rooming patient, assisting with treatments and procedures.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Bi-Annual CPR certification.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
Knowledge of medical terminology and a variety of laboratory techniques.
# Ability to establish effective working relationships and clearly communicate with patients, medical staff and the public.
# Computer experience required.
